Facebook Reaches 500 Million Users

Facebook has now reached 500 million users. That's an incredible figure for an idea that started back in 2004.
Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, recently said "We are building toward a web where the default is social."
500 million users is a massive figure. So is the figure of 2 billion videos a day that YouTube serves.
What is clear is that social media is having a massive impact on the way that people communicate and consume messages. No longer are people reliant on a PC or laptop to receive messages, with mobile playing a major part in the popularity of sites like Facebook.
