YouTube Increases Upload Limit From 10 to 15 Minutes

Posted on 29. Jul, 2010 by admin in online video

YouTube announced today that they have increased the limit from 10 to 15 minutes on all video uploads.

Plus, in celebration they are launching a contest called “15 Minutes of Fame.” All you need to do to take part is make a 15 minute video and tag it with “yt15minutes.”  You need to upload it by Wednesday 4th August and handful of chosen videos will be then be featured  on YouTube’s homepage. You can see the full announcement on the YouTube blog

So, time to get creative!

Mike

P.S. Talking about getting creative, have you seen the YouTube video that Elkie Holland created earlier today (before the announcement). If you carry out interviews on a regular basis I am sure you will recognise some of these "Interview Faux Pas"

    Hi MIke
Nice pickup on the YT video changes.  My take though, is that for the RCEURO Recruitment Thought Leader Conversations that I will stil try to keep the video interview to about 10 minutes.  I think it is a good timeframe to keep the viewer interest – 5 minutes can even be better at times.  It will be interesting to see what your readers think.

    Best regards

    Thanks Alan

I think up to 15 minutes is useful for "how to" and demo type videos but I agree that around 5 minutes will probably keep the viewers attention span better for interviews.
