Mike Taylor – Managing Director –
Web Based Recruitment

Web Based Recruitment was started by Mike Taylor in 2001. Mike had spent the previous 12 years working in HR and Recruitment for major blue chip companies including IBM, Motorola and Nokia.
 
 In his last role at Nokia Mike was the UK Recruitment Specialist with responsibility for Nokia’s UK careers web-site and online advertising strategy.
 
 Mike has been involved in online recruitment for 9 years and established Web Based Recruitment as an independent online recruitment consultancy to help companies with all aspects of their online recruitment activities.
 
Mike also has experience of running successful SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and Online Marketing campaigns in a number of different industry sectors and organised the UK's first Social Media In Recruitment Conference in July 2009.

Ariel Eckstein - Managing Director for European Hiring Solutions -  LinkedIn

Ariel is responsible for sales and support of LinkedIn’s solutions to corporate and recruitment clients.

Prior to joining LinkedIn, he was Vice President of Business Expansion for AOL Europe where he led the search, mobile and new markets business units and was responsible for Pan European strategic partners and business development.

While with AOL in the U.S., Mr. Eckstein led AOL’s entry into the Japanese ad network market, played a leading role in launching AOL India and AOL Latino.


Andy Headworth – Founder -  Sirona Consulting

Andy Headworth is the owner of Sirona Consulting Limited, a specialist consultancy that has extensive experience within the recruitment industry.
 
He helps and advises companies about recruitment strategy, recruitment process, online recruitment, candidate attraction and how to use social media as a successful tool within recruitment.

Lisa Scales – Director – Talent On View

Lisa Scales has over 15 years experience working within the recruitment industry. She has held senior management roles with Kelly Services Inc and Select Appointments plc (now Ranstad). Lisa has also had in house experience working for a city law firm in a recruiting and HR function and in 2008 started Talent on View – a video software technology for the recruitment sector.

The business has grown exponentially since then and in early 2009 they launched their new product Tribepad. Tribepad is a white label community platform enabling companies to leverage their own employees and customers online.

Peter Gold – Founder -  Hire Strategies Ltd

Peter Gold is the Founder of Hire Strategies Limited, an online recruitment business that helps employers implement their e-recruitment strategy and use the Internet to ‘find and hire’ great people more effectively than their competitors. Peter was previously the CEO of AIM listed Jobs.co.uk plc, a recruitment focused, technology provider. He has 15 years recruitment experience having worked for recruitment agencies such as Manpower plc, Kelly Services and Securicor Recruitment Services before setting up e-cruitnow.com in September 1999 (subsequently acquired by Jobs.co.uk plc in April 2002).
 
 With 20 years recruitment experience (the last 10 involved in e-recruitment), Peter has an in depth knowledge of recruitment, IT processes, recruitment technology and social media which allows him to distil this into simple, workable solutions based on real life recruitment experience. Adrian Marlowe – Director -  Lawspeed

Adrian launched Lawspeed 11 years ago having identified the need in the recruitment industry for industry leading specialist documentation and strategic advice combining legal, tax and recruitment expertise.

Lawspeed is unique in its market being the only consultancy of its type with experience of understanding the legal and commercial issues relevant to the entire recruitment chain from end user to worker including internet usage.

With his focus very much on recruitment law and employment status Adrian is arguably one the UK’s leading experts in this area and has often  been instructed  by industry stakeholders to respond  to key government consultations affecting the recruitment industry.

Adrian is also the Chair of the recently launched membership organisation for recruiters, the Association of Recruitment Consultancies (ARC). 

  Luke Mckend – Industry Head Careers – Google UK

Luke's current role involves expanding Google's advertising opportunities to the recruitment industry through education, research, senior level meetings and consultation. Luke manages a team of professionals who support Google's client base in this area.

Previously a software sales and consulting professional with substantial experience in e-recruitment and Internet industries. Has worked successfully within start-up and high growth businesses.

 

  

Jonathan Hart-Smith – Director – CK Clinical

Jonathan-Smith has ten years experience in recruitment and for the last six years has been running his own company, CK Clinical.

CK Clinical now has two offices and recruits throughout the UK and Switzerland. They recruit for Clinical Research jobs, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs roles.

Elkie Holland – Director – Prospectus IT Recruitment

Elkie is a leading expert in the IT recruitment industry and has been running her own recruitment consultancy for over 25 years. Her main area of expertise is in the IT market where she has built a reputation for providing a quality recruitment service to her clients and candidates.

She is constantly aware of the way that the industry is evolving and has adapted her recruitment technique to successfully mix traditional recruitment methods with new technology. Elkie has embraced Web 2.0 and Social Media and has incorporated LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook into her Social Media strategy to recruit for her clients and service her candidates.
